The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE), established in 1908 and located at Lyons Range, Kolkata, is the second-oldest stock exchange in South Asia and the second-largest in India. Despite SEBI’s directive for it to exit, the matter remains sub judice before the Calcutta High Court. While 13 other regional exchanges, including those in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Madras, have shut down under SEBI’s exit policy in recent years, CSE continues to operate pending the court’s decision.
